The Sometimes Mirror

Going back to work after a long, non-restful break isn’t the best feeling. End of last year, I just lost my highest paying job. I was definitely lucky to have had it. But losing it sucked the life out of me.

The feeling of a perpetual (sometimes psychosomatic) headache, gripping your bare scalp and temples tight. Trying to balance on one foot that doesn’t seem to be your own, while breathing as if you’re underwater, accustomed to the idea that it’ll be a long way before you resurface.

Here’s to the new-but-more-of-the-same year.
